Art History & Visual Studies
Sarada Natarajan did her M.A. in Art History from the Faculty of
Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. She worked as
Research Associate for the Dakshinachitra Museum project in
1993-1994 and taught art history and aesthetics at Stella Maris
College, Chennai, NIFT, Hyderabad and other institutions. She has
been Guest Faculty at the Fine Arts Department, S.N. School of Arts
and Communication, from 2004. Her areas of academic interest include
pre-modern Indian architecture and sculpture, art historiography,
art history pedagogy and Visual Culture. Other areas of interest are
music, illustration and theatre; she co-teaches a course in the
Theatre Arts Department of S.N. School.
and illustrates for children and is a trained Carnatic vocalist.
Currently, she is completing her doctoral thesis on Indian art
historiography from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M. S. University of
